The ones we did save? Two have major mammary mass clusters up and down their mammary chain. If you saw the videos of the dogs.I just don't understand. And then to find out animal services won't even take the dogs when they did go - they just supposedly gave her citations (and the city has a 4 dog limit!!!)! Seriously. I have NEVER walked out of a hoarding/backyard breeder call without almost all (if they were keeping 1 or 2 as allowed by the county) or all the dogs - even if it was 134+ of them. We warned her that if code enforcement has been there, animal services will be next - they will call them - nope, she wasn't worried, this was hard enough and stop asking her for more dogs. We begged her to let us please help her and take a few more of the dogs - nope, nope, she had places for all of them.

Animal Services got there about 2 hours after we left - and I KNOW she didn't have time to clean and scrub all the crates (which were so filthy gross) (A and I begged her to let us please do it before we left - just so the dogs could have clean water (the bowls were so so gross), she said no, no, she would do it, she was fine). Code enforcement had been there in the last few days, then animal services was called by them. All shih tzus, malteses, yorkies, a papillion and mixes thereof. Crates were in the garage, some without bottoms so the pups were using the bathroom and it was falling to the crates below (and the other dogs). Our friend, A, from the partner rescue went out and evaluated the situation and within 30 minutes I had a Jeep full of carriers and was headed out. A woman had reached out to them explaining she had a lot of dogs and had been “reported” and needed to give up some of the dogs. We were contacted by another breed specific rescue that we have worked with before about a situation. Every text ding is me hoping it’s a message that she has decided to give the rest up. I have actually delayed this post, hoping, praying that we could get the rest of the dogs. I have seen a lot in rescue, a lot I won't talk about, a lot I don't want to relive or think about, but I always focus on the fact that we saved all the dogs. This will be a series of posts, likely three, with each one talking about the specific groups/pups that have joined the FLDR pack in the last week ~ their care being the reason we have been quiet on social ~ as these have pups have taken up all of our extra time (and then some) so social posts have been lagging and we apologize (kinda a sorry, not sorry as the pups’ care comes first) Anyhow…last week began with a Tuesday, that decided to be Tuesday, aka Monday the sequel - which let's be honest, sequels are always worse than the original anyhow, so yeah, 0 stars, do not recommend, and it was heart wrenching.
